Hmm the truth..

The truth of storytelling I agree with you Rachel..it's more about picking it apart and being like this could have happened and it's written like it did..but it didn't haha. Umm deciding when to do that would be tricky. It reads like it's true and a type of autobiography would you tell them before or after the book? Hmmm..

  1. I think I would see what students think about the stories in the book first before I tell them that they're true or not. I think I would get into the book a bit and then ask them what they think. I didn't teach A LOT about the "truth" of the book before and I kind of wish I did now. (We talked a lot about Vietnam). We talked about it a little but I wonder more what the students thought of it now, if they believed a lot of stories or just thought of the book as just another fiction. It would be fun to have them explore the book a bit more in these terms and talk about the different parts like the dedication and what not.
